With their systems used throughout the world, Bose is widely recognised as one of the top brands of the modern world. Based in Framington (near Boston, USA) Bose has been producing ground breaking products since their inception by Dr. Amar G Bose in 1964. They have since grown to become the largest audio company in the world.
Still very involved in the business on a daily business, Dr Bose and his team continue to develop innovative products. There are a number of reasons to choose Bose and as Scotland’s premier Bose dealer we are delighted to be of service to you. We own and operate two stores representing Bose, here in Edinburgh and in Glasgow – please see www.boseglasgow.com
Whether it is a hi-fi system and/or a full surround sound system, Bose have a product that will exceed your expectations. Ease of use is one of the main benefits of any Bose product and everything is supplied in one box, ready for you to assemble and use with ease. It really is just a case of deciding which system is right for you.
Bose Lifestyle Systems
There are four models of Lifestyle System: the Lifestyle 48, 38, 28 and 18. All models of Lifestyle systems are hi-fi, home cinema and multi room products all rolled into one small and easy to use system.
Lifestyle 48
The top of the range version is the Lifestyle 48. This unit comes complete with four direct/reflecting jewel cube speakers which measure 11.4cm in height, one centre channel speaker and powered Acoustimass base module.
The head unit plays your own CDs and MP3 discs. DVD are played also and the picture is delivered to your television through one cable, and is up scaled to 1080p, the best picture possible to your compatible television.
With an integrated hard drive that takes around 350 hours of music, the Bose Lifestyle system can be used in a single room application or connected up to a maximum of 14 zones of audio. These can be wired or wireless. Users can choose the source, track, radio or volume in each zone by using remote controls. Imagine being able to listen to watch a movie in your living room and listening to your stored music in your kitchen or bedroom.
For managing your music most effectively, Bose have an operating system called uMusic+ and further details on this amazing product can be found on this page.
Lifestyle 38
The Lifestyle 38 takes on most of the features of the Lifestyle 48 system. The capacity of hard drive is reduced slightly, with enough space to store 200 hours of music and it is also supplied complete with Bose’s Direct/Reflecting cube speaker arrays.
Lifestyle 28 and Lifestyle 18
For customers not looking to have their music stored on a hard drive, the Lifestyle 28 and 18 are perfect and still retain many of the great features of the Lifestyle 38 and 48. As with all Bose Lifestyle products the main media centre can be located out of site in a cupboard as the remote control operates via radio frequency.
Bose 3-2-1 Systems
A number of years ago, Bose identified that many people who wanted a cinema experience did not want to have speakers placed around their room. Bose’s engineers came up with the 3-2-1 system, which contains two small front facing speakers and a powered bass module. In doing so, Bose pioneered the 2.1 surround sound market. There are many other 2.1 systems on the market but the Bose 3-2-1 system remains the market leader for the perfect combination of music and movie performance.
There are three versions of the 3-2-1 system:
The 3-2-1 GSX, which includes a hard drive capable of storing 200 hours of music, like the Bose’s Lifestyle 38 system.
The 3-2-1 GS system is similar to the GSX as uses the Gemstone speaker design and offers exactly the same performance. This is primarily designed for customers who do not wish to store their music on an internal hard drive.
Lastly, the 3-2-1 system uses slightly larger speakers that are still capable of producing an engaging experience from a system that is very easy to use.
uMusic+
Bose systems with integrated hard drives, also come with uMusic+ functionality. uMusic+ learns your music habits, with very little interaction. You can set up your own uMusic stations for any mood or occasion. Perhaps there is a style of music you like to listen to when relaxing or at a dinner party. uMusic can indentify different traits and offer up suggestions from your own collection that fit in accordingly.
Other features, unique to Bose Lifestyle systems are AdaptIQ and BoseLink. Adapt IQ ensures your Bose system will sound as good as it can in any type of room, even with less than ideal acoustics and speaker placement. Click the link below to view the AdaptIQ video.

BoseLink allows you to expand your system and enjoy music throughout your home and even in the garden. BoseLink makes homewide audio easy to use and very accessible. Take a look at the BoseLink video by following the link below to learn more.
