Monitor Audio, based in Rayleigh, Essex, are now the only major British Loudspeaker company completely under British ownership. From their beginnings in 1972 Monitor Audio have always been at the forefront of speaker design. Their simple aim – to produce a great sound.

Using materials such as Ceramic Coated Aluminium Magnesium in their speaker drivers has enabled Monitor Audio to reproduce a more life-like sound, which the public and critics alike have warmed to. Monitor Audio produce traditional loudspeakers designed for both two channel and surround sound applications, at a variety of levels to suit all budgets. The Radius speakers range is one of the most varied ranges from Monitor Audio, predominantly designed for surround sound applications. The speakers are available in six different sizes, from tiny Radius 45 cube speakers right up to Radius 270 floor standing speakers. To complement these, Monitor Audio product some excellent sub woofers. Whether you have a small or large room, there is a Radius speaker to meet your requirements.

Adding to the wealth of size options, the placement options are very versatile, being able to be wall mounted or to be placed on optional floor stands.

Lastly, the Radius range is available in a number of finishes, from contemporary high gloss white and high gloss black, to more traditional real wood veneer finishes - walnut and rosemah.

The most exciting and stylish new speaker package to be launched in 2010 - the new Monitor Audio Apex. Utilising brand new satellite speakers and subwoofer , the Apex system appeals to anyone looking for high end design and sound quality. The speakers can be wall or ceiling mounted, via their bespoke bracket supplied in the box.

Bronze is the entry level range in Monitor Audio’s traditional loudspeaker offering, comprising of the BR1 and BR2, stand mount speakers, BR5 and BR6 floor standing, BRFX rear effects bipole speakers and BRLCR centre channel speaker. Lastly, they produce the BRW10 subwoofer designed to be used in a home cinema setup. The Bronze range is available in three wood vinyl finishes, black oak, walnut pearlescent and cherry pearlescent.

Improving on the previous Silver RS range, the RX speaker range has been completely redesigned. The silver RX series features newly designed drivers, incorporating a wideband tweeter and new C-CAM bass and mid range drivers.

The RX Series has only recently been released onto the market, but has already gained awards under it belt, winning the Best Speaker Package £1500+’ in What Hi FI’s 2009 Awards, together with a ‘First Test’ five star winner for the Monitor Audio RX6 speakers. The RX6 and RX8 have quickly become two of the most popular speakers in the shop. The range is made up from the RX1 and RX2 stand mount speakers, the RX6 and the wonderful RX8 speaker. They also produce the RXW12 subwoofer which delivers class leading performance and is equally suited to music and movies.

The RX range is available in high gloss white or high gloss black, and the real wood veneers include - natural oak, rosenut, black oak and walnut.

Monitor Audio’s Gold speaker range exudes quality, whether you choose one of their real wood or high gloss finishes, the Gold range is a welcome addition to any system, and indeed room.

The range consists of the GS10 stand mount, GS20 and GS60 floor stand speakers, GSCLR centre speaker, GSFX rear effects speaker and lastly, GSW-12 subwoofer. The Gold series uses 6.5 inch advanced RST (Rigid surface Technology) drivers for an unusually clear, detailed sound.

When designing the flagship range of speakers, Alex, Dean and their team of engineers they went back to the drawing board. Their aim was simply to produce the best loudspeaker ever produced by Monitor Audio, no matter the price. The Platinum range introduced new technologies, such as their C-Cam Ribbon tweeter, (developed with the ability for lighting fast response times) and ARC, Anti Resonance Composite (a polymer with inherent dampening characteristics). The Platinum range is able to produce a naturally clear wideband sound, resulting in lifelike natural sound like never before.

The range is available in two floor standing variants, the PL300 and PL200, a stand mount speaker - the PL100, a surround center channel speaker the PLC150 and lastly, the PLW15 subwoofer.

The Platinum range is equally astounding in two channel or surround sound applications, whether extracting the subtle nuances in a classical symphony or producing the dynamic sound from a ‘full on’ action movie.
