Sonos Music Systems
At James Morrow we look for products with two main philosophies in mind: innovation and ease of use. There is no point in having a fancy system when it requires a PhD to operate. When we first had a demonstration of the Sonos system five years ago, we knew that this product would fit our customers' needs exactly.
The first products from Sonos were brought to the USA market in January 2005 and since then the brand has developed into a market leader. With systems receiving regular software updates, the capabilities of the older systems are the same as the very latest models.
Sonos are fairly unique in this area - they allow all their customers the same functionality, no matter when they bought their systems. Software updates are free and available simply by accepting the on screen prompt. The Sonos Multi-Room Music System lets you play all the music you want, all over your house—from the bedroom to the garden—and control it all from the palm of your hand. It’s the first wireless multi-room music system of its kind and it’s going to change the way you listen to music at home.
With a Sonos Controller in hand, your entire music collection, Internet radio and online music services are at your fingertips. And with Sonos ZonePlayers in all the rooms where you want music, you can simply pick a room, pick a song and touch play.
In 2009 Sonos released an update controller, the CR200 (shown above). A capacitive touch screen controller, which works seamlessly with your Zoneplayers, no lag, no waiting, just pick it up and choose your music. We expect 2010 to be an exciting year as Sonos are likely to announce partnerships with more internet music providers. Watch this space . . . . .
Music Services
As mentioned above, as well as being able to listen to all your own digitally stored music, whether on your own PC, Mac or Network hardrive, there are also a number of Music Services available on Sonos:

With a catalog of over 6 million songs — pop, hip-hop, rock, country, jazz, classical, and more — you’ll have unlimited music on demand. And you’ll never have to rip another CD, download another song or even turn on your computer to access all that music.
 Enjoy a personalized music experience in every room with Last.fm and Sonos. Last.fm is a global music service that lets you play, share and discover new music. You can also create personal radio stations based on your musical tastes. Just pick up your Sonos Controller and enter the name of your favorite artist or genre and Last.fm will play radio customized just for you. The more you listen, the more Last.fm learns what you like so it can continually recommend new tracks and stations. With Last.fm and Sonos you’ll have hours upon hours of music available all over the house.
 Enhance your radio experience in every room with Deezer and Sonos. Deezer is an online music service with millions of songs from both major and independent labels. Create Smartradio stations based on a specific artist and discover a world of new music. Or tune in to Deezer’s pre-programmed stations—Top Radio and Theme Radio—to enjoy the most popular music and your favourite genres. Just pick up your Sonos Controller for instant, computer-free access to all that amazing music.
Sonos S5 Zoneplayer Music System
In December 2009, Sonos released their S5 Zoneplayer Music System. In one box they have incorporated a zoneplayer, five dedicated digital amplifiers and five integrated speakers. The sound generated is crystal clear and surprisingly full for such a small unit. It is available now in Black and White.
 The S5 is the perfect way to start a Sonos system. Plug it into the mains and with an ethernet connection to your router within five minutes, you will be up and running.
The Sonos S5 is perfect for customers who already have a Sonos system and would like to easily expand their system.
 Just like the other Zoneplayers in Sonos’s range, the S5 can be controlled by either Sonos hand held controller, desktop controller, or the free iPhone and iPod touch application.
